Meet Tuhuti: his name means 'king of earth and sky.' A very nice woman brought him to PAHS because he was always being attacked by her neighborhood's male feral cats. She noticed he is a sweet soul who didn't fight back, so she caught him, brought him to PAHS where he could have a chance at a home and a calmer life. Tuhuti (she gave him this wonderful name) is about two years old, is neutered, and is a large-framed cat. He is a little skittish from being beat up for a while, but we know he will make a patient family very happy. T's time at the shelter has given him a chance to warm up to people and enjoy affection. Let's give this sweet cat (look at that face!) a chance at an indoor, warm, cozy life! This 'king of earth and sky' is available at the shelter.
 
You may remember our directed spay/neuter campaign this past spring--'Spay Neuter Autauga County'-- which was made possible by a $20,000 Petco Lifesaving Grant. PAHS has remaining funds from this grant and we are happy to announce that effective December 1, 2018 all adoptions will be reduced by half! For the month of December (as funds will allow) cat adoption fees will be $25 and dog adoptions $60. We are thrilled to offer this gift to the animals and people of our community. Upon partnering with Petco and receiving these monies, PAHS pledged to work toward 'live outcomes' with shelter animals; we believe half-price adoptions will fulfill this promise and is a great way to end the year!  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.   Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heartworm negative.
